Best Day of My Life aka Seeing Danish Royalty

Hello all! We are going to go a bit away from the topic of Swedish Royal today and discuss their cousins- The Danish Royals! Yesterday I had the most amazing opportunity to go into Boston and see the Crown Prince and Princess as they arrived at the Boston State House.

The day started very early for me because I could not stay asleep as I was so excited! My dearest friend and I went to Boston by reading the Commuter Rail- we had so much fun just on the ride alone because we got to ride on a multi-story car. We did not even know that those kinds of cars existed! To make the ride even better the conductor looked just like conductor from the Polar Express!

We made the mile walk from the station to the Massachusetts State House where we walked around outside trying to figure out where they would appear. I asked one of my friends to call the Governor's Press Line to get more information but they unfortunately they never called back to tell us. Thankfully, I worked up the courage and asked one of the Security Guards and he pointed us in the right direction.

We were able to stand at the front of the barriers at the Red Carpet leading up to the steps of the State House- we were SO close to them it was crazy! According to my dearest friend, I squeaked the entire time and I was crying and shaking so badly that I am surprised I didn't faint! They walked right past us and up the steps and then stood a little further up while they played the Danish and American Anthems before heading inside.

One of the best parts of watching the ceremony was that halfway through the American Anthem there was a glitch in the audio and it stopped for a good 5-10 seconds (in the middle of a verse). Everyone stood there for a second wondering if that was supposed to happen and then laughter came. You could tell Frederik and Mary really enjoyed that break in the seriousness.

I have to tell you that Mary is even more stunning in person- I still cannot get over how beautiful she is! I still feel like it was a dream to be so close to them and I almost wish I had something to them as they walked by- but I was so starstruck that I am not sure what I could have said that would have made sense! Afterwards I had a couple (who I believe were Danish) stare at me as I was shaking, crying, and freaking out- it was almost like they wanted to ask me something but they never spoke to me. It was also so fun to see all the media and even put faces to some of the people I had emailed ahead of the tour! (I tried to get Media Accreditation but they didn't get back to me in time)

Needless to say it was an amazing day and getting to go with one of my dearest friends made it even more special! I really don't think I would have wanted to go with anyone else because she kept my calm (to the extent that my love for them would allow!). Have you ever seen or met any royals? Leave a comment or send me an email and let us know!
