While normally I post Weekly recaps on Friday's, I missed last Friday due to my part-time job turning into a full-time job for a week! There were no big pre-announced events outside of the palace, but plenty of meetings inside the palace which the Royal Court shared photos of! In addition to these meetings, there were a 2 unannounced/surprise engagements!
On Wednesday, the King and Queen along with the Crown Princess Couple held an audience for the Polish Presidential Couple.
Later in the day, they also held a meeting with the Foreign Minister, Margot Wallström, to discuss upcoming state visits. It is the Foreign Minister who submits proposals to the Royal Family to go on state visits.
On Friday, the King and Crown Princess held a meeting with the Advisory Council and Foreign Policy Council. The Advisory Council is a consultative body between the parliament and the government where the King sits in the chair. The Advisory Council is convened on the government and the Constitution states that "The Government shall keep the Advisory Council informed about the foreign policy conditions that may be of importance for the country and discuss with the Board on these as often as needed." Victoria sits on the Foreign Policy Council.
On Sunday evening, Prince Daniel took Princess Estelle with him to watch the Swedish Women's National Handball team play (and win) against Spain.
On Monday, Victoria joined the King for the regularly held Cabinet Meeting. Cabinet Meetings began in 1974 and are held 3-4 times a year. The purpose of these cabinet meetings is for the Ministers of Policy Initiatives can give updates to the King as well as answer any questions he may have. Victoria attends because she is the next Head of State and it is important for her to be up-to-date on the things that are happening within the government.
Later on Monday, the King, Queen, Crown Princess, Prince Daniel, and Prince Carl Philip met with the Nobel Foundation to discuss this years Nobel Laureates and the upcoming ceremony which will be held on Saturday.
Finally for this wrap-up post, Princess Sofia spent the morning of her birthday giving out awards honoring the future in healthcare.
For these 3 days of meetings, Victoria debuted 1 new dress and 2 old favorites. On Wednesday, she wore a new dress from Greta's Spring 2017 line which she paired with her Ebba Brahe Earrings and Saint Laurent pumps. On Friday she wore her maroon By Malene Birger dress and on Monday she wore her blue Baum und Pferdgarten dress.
For Estelle's trip to the Handball match with Daniel, she wore Bonpoint boots and a cardigan from Bonpoint as well. If anyone has any other information on the rest of her outfit- please share!
Finally, for Sofia's birthday engagement, she wore a new Red Valentino Dress, her Engelbert Hoop earrings, and Saint Laurent pumps.
