On December 1st, Prince Gabriel , the second child of Prince Carl-Philip and Princess Sofia, was christened at Drottningholm Church. Let's take a look at the family's outfits for this happy occasion.
Princess Sofia surprised us with her outfit! She chose to wear the traditional outfit of Dalarna, the duchy in which she grew up. Prince Gabriel is Duke of Dalarna so it was a nice , symbolic way to celebrate the christening. Prince Alexander was dressed in an outfit first worn by his father Prince Carl-Philip in 1981.
Queen Silvia chose to repeat a blue Georg et Arend outfit. She first wore the matching dress and coat while visiting the Swedish Royal Wedding Gowns exhibition last year. The outfit was based on the Georg et Arend designs pictured. She also wore a new Philip Treacy hat.
Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel and their children wore color-coordinated outfits. Victoria wore a new beautiful red jacket and skirt that according to Expressen, is from Pär Engsheden. She wore new Gianvito Rossi shoes, a Corrine leather bow, and a new clutch.
Princess Estelle wore a Geiger Fashion sweater with a Tartine et Chocolat dress and Pom d'Api shoes. She also wore her Kreuger necklace and a Trotters hair bow.
Prince Oscar wore a Mimirose from Mehls Stockholm outfit and Pom d'Api shoes.
Princess Madeleine wore a new Valentino dress with a new Valentino coat. Her shoes are from Gianvito Rossi and she chose her Bottega Veneta clutch to complete the outfit.
Now , we thought we would continue something we started for Alexander's christening and cover the guests's fashion as well.
Starting with the godmothers, Princess Sofia's sister , Sara Hellqvist, wore a Stenstroms cape also owned by Sofia with a By Malina dress, Stinaa J shoes and the Unisa clutch she has also worn at Alexander's christening. O'Dwyer confirmed that Sara wore rings from the brand. UPDATE : Lina (Hellqvist) Frejd's dress is from Day Birger et Mikkelsen.
Carolina Pihl, one of Gabriel's godmother, wore a Roland Mouret jacket and a matching skirt with Manolo Blahnik shoes and a Bottega Veneta clutch. She was seen wearing a Reiss coat when she arrived at the Palace.
Karolin A. Johnson , the head of Crown Princess Victoria's household, wore a midi navy Self-Portrait dress (pictured here in white) with a matching clutch and fascinator. Vicky Magnuson, the wife of Gustav Magnuson, wore a Karl Lagerfeld jacket with a Mayla blouse and a blue skirt.
It looks like Frida Vesterberg, one of Sofia's closest friend, borrowed her outfit from Sofia. She wore a By Malene Birger coat and a Dorothee Schumacher dress worn by Sofia before. Her clutch might also be Sofia's , although this one is still UFO. Louise Chliffordson Skog wore an Ida Sjosdtedt black fur collar coat.
Cajsa Larsson and her daughter Tiara wore familiar dresses to the christening. Cajsa, Alexander's godmother, wore an Ida Sjosdtedt dress with Stinaa J shoes. Sofia has worn this Ida Sjosdtedt dress in pink before. Tiara, Sofia's godchild, wore the shorter version of the Stylein dress Sofia wore to the King's Laureates Dinner last year. You can see a better photo of Cajsa's and Tiara's outfits here.
Princess Ursula of Bavaria wore a Valentino floral printed coat with a Valentino blouse and a classic red Chanel bag
Maline Sommerlath , the wife of Carl-Philip's cousin Patrick , wore a Jonathan Simkhai white midi dress and a light blue fascinator by Sahar. Ebba Bush Thor, the leader of the Swedish Christian Democrat party, wore a Zetterberg lace dress with a white coat, matching fascinator and Stinaa J pumps.
