Wow... it has been a long time coming. It feels so good to have the time to sit down and write this post! We have a lot to catch up on, so let's get started!
6 March: Crown Princess Victoria visited a conference titled Baltic Sea Future which was put on in partnership with the City of Stockholm, Stockholm University, and the Sustainable Seas Foundation (which Victoria is heavily involved in). The Crown Princess was selected last year to be an ambassador to the UN's goals for sustainability and follows these topics very closely so it made sense she would be in attendance.
9 March: Princess Sofia opened the new Södertälje Hospital in Stockholm. The hospital had just gone under large renovations and construction and now it is one of the most modern hospitals in all of Sweden.
12 March: Crown Princess Victoria was joined with her family to celebrate her Name Day with well-wishers at the courtyard of the Stockholm Palace. This is an annual event and never fails to produce good photos of the family. This was Oscar's first time in attendance but he probably is too young to remember it!
For this, Victoria wore a new Max Mara Manuela Camel Hair Wrap Coat and Aluda top from By Malene Birger. She also wore her Caroline Svedbom earrings first seen in Milan last year and Gianvito Rossi Ankle Boots. Prince Oscar wore a coat from Marie Chantal, boots from Kavat and wore a hat from the Italian brand, BeeWise. Princess Estelle wore a hat from the same brand and wore boots from Bonpoint.
13 March: On Monday, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Carl Philip joined the President of Finland for a wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument of Finland, at Finland Park in Stockholm. This ceremony was to commemorate the Winter War and was organized by the Swedish-Finnish Volunteer's Memorial Association.
Victoria wore her black Escada ruffle dress under her custom Ida Sjöstedt Couture coat. She paid tribute to the country of Finland by wearing a necklace and earrings from the famous Finnish designer Björn Weckström who designed Princess Leia's jewelry in Star Wars. She added some color to her outfit by wearing an old pair of blue Gianvito Rossi pumps and carrying her blue Quidam clutch. Huge thanks to a reader and fellow blogger for sharing that her bracelet comes from Cornelia Webb Jewellery!
16 March: Crown Princess Victoria attended the opening of "Chanel, Balmain, Dior. Marianne Bernadotte – a Style Icon". Marianne Bernadotte was married to the King's uncle until his death. She remains a regular attendee at all family gatherings. Princess Sofia also had a meeting on this day, attending a lecture given by YPO at the Royal Palace as apart of the Global Child Forum Initiatives.
Victoria borrowed one of Queen Silvia's Chanel jackets for this event and paired it with Yves Saint Laurent pumps, first seen a few years ago. She wore her Filippa K Tuxedo trousers and Kreuger Jewelery necklace and earrings. Sofia wore a new dress from Lars Wallin and likely her Rodebjer Charlotte Pumps.
17 March: On Friday, Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip opened the Fryshuset Center in Husby. The new establishment hopes to continue to encourage the youth to try and learn new skills and have a safe place to come to discover themselves.
20 March: Crown Princess Victoria joined the King for the Informational Council meeting at the Palace on this day. These meetings are held 3-4 times a year and provide the King (and the Crown Princess) a chance to hear about the various Minister's policy initiatives, investigations, as well as ask any questions they may have.
For this meeting, Victoria wore her matching purple wool jacket and skirt from Tara Jarmon along with her favorite white tie neck blouse.
21 March: Today, Prince Daniel and Crown Princess Victoria joined the King and Tord Magnuson for a lunch in the honor of Staffan de Mistura, the UN Envoy to Syria. Staffan was in Stockholm to be the keynote speaker for the Stockholm Peace Talks which Tord Magnuson helped to organize and Crown Princess Victoria attended. Queen Silvia was originally the one supposed to attend the Peace Talks, but Victoria had to replace her on account of the Queen and Princess Madeleine having to go to Germany to attend the funeral for Prince Richard of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (Prince Benedikte of Denmark's husband who died unexpectedly).
For the lunch meeting, Victoria wore a light pink Filippa K dress, first seen last year, and what appear to be either By Malene Birger pumps or Rizzo pumps. The photo makes it difficult to tell. For the Stockholm Peace Talks ceremony, Victoria wore a new dress from Dagmar with her Saint Laurent Studded Patchwork Pumps, Hunkdory Clutch, and her Linda Fallenius earrings. Her necklace pendant looks new but there is no good photos of it to say for sure. Princess Madeleine wore her Prada ruffle coat with Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti black suit underneath it for Prince Richard's funeral. She carried her Marc Jacobs quilted clutch.
23 March: This evening, the Royal Couple held the first Representation Dinner of the year at the Royal Palace and the Stockholm based Royal Family was in attendance. Representation Dinners are held 2-3 times a year for various members of Swedish Parliament and Government as well as members of the Diplomatic Corps, and others who have represented Sweden abroad through their academic, intellectual, athletic, and business accomplishments.
For this evening, Victoria wore her green sequin Elie Saab gown which she paired with a Anya Hindmarch clutch. She selected the Laurel Wreath Tiara, bequeathed to her from Princess Lilian, the Emerald Belt Necklace with matching brooch, and the top half of the Brazilian Parure Diamond Earrings. Princess Sofia, whose 2nd pregnancy was announced in the morning, wore a new red gown from Ida Lanto and wore a clutch which I am pleased to confirm comes from Karin Halvors. She again choose the Small Steel Cut Tiara from the vaults and also wore a diamond brooch and the Queen Josefina's Stomacher Earrings.
28 March: On this day, Crown Princess Victoria joined her parents for a meeting with the ministers Isabella Lövin and Ibrahim Baylan who updated them on issues and initiatives in their respective areas.
Victoria selected a top and pair of trousers both from StyleIn for this meeting.
29 March: In the morning, Crown Princess Victoria held a meeting with experts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to gain an in-depth knowledge of Japan before her journey there, on the 18th-21st of April. Later that evening, she joined the King and Queen for the regular Parish Evenings held in the Bernadotte Library of the Royal Palace. This session's topic was the Swedish Church's work abroad.
For her morning meeting, Victoria wore a dress from Baum und Pferdgarten. In the evening, we only have one blurry photo from the Royal House so it is hard to say what all the details are. However, the dress she is wearing is old and has long been reported to be Diane von Furstenberg but I personally don't agree with that identification. (wrong material, wrong seams, wrong cut) Her necklace has been speculated to be from Maria Börjesson and her clutch Stella McCartney.
6 April: Today, as the King was still in Brazil, Crown Princess Victoria acting as regent, attended the Advisory Council for Foreign Relations. Earlier, she and Prince Daniel visited SVT (Swedish National Broadcasting) studio's to learn about their different operations.
7 April: On Friday, Crown Princess Victoria gave an audience for the Vietnamese Politician Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân at the Royal Palace.
8 April: Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel visited the site of the horrendous Stockholm Attacks which took place the previous day. Victoria was visibly moved and brushed away tears. When she was asked by a reporter how she thought people should move forward, she (now famously) said "Together". You could hear the emotion in her voice as she answered and with that one word she spoke the thoughts of so many. She wore a new black coat with white/cream shirt underneath and her black Gianvito Rossi Ankle Boots.
10 April: This day, the entire Stockholm based royal family attended a service for the victims of the Stockholm Attacks which took place earlier in the week. This was a solemn affair and the entire family looked to be moved and visibly saddened by the events (as am I). Princess Madeleine followed closely from London and called the Royal Court numerous times get updates. She also made a point to take part in the minute of silence held on this day for the victims.
Victoria wore an old coat last seen after Princess Lilian's death in 2013 which she wore a black dress underneath. She carried her black Nancy Gonzalez bag and wore Kreuger Jewellery earrings. Princess Sofia wore her Hedvig Cashmere coat from Greta, Veronica Virta Pearl Top in black with a Veronica Virta Jersey Skirt. She carried a new bag and wore her Rodebjer Charlotte pumps.
8+ hours I am finished! I know I still have a few missing dates from February but hopefully I will get a chance to fill those in tomorrow. I hesitate to say that I am fully back- but that is my hope. Let me know if I missed anything!
