Wow- what a week! As some of you know, my little sister graduated last week and along with that came all the end-of-the-year events that US High School's have for Seniors. (Awards, Proms, Services, Graduations, Parties... just to name a few). Nevertheless, it was a very busy week and I am finally getting the chance to catch up on what the royals did last week!
Victoria in New York
Victoria arrived early in New York City to be able to attend an evening reception hosted by Prince Albert of Monaco and the Monaco Explorations. This reception was held in honor of Monaco Explorations, which intends to renew the "great tradition" of sea explorations around the globe "in order to learn, understand, raise public awareness and to take action."
On Thursday, Victoria was at the United Nations to take place in Ocean Week which was organized by Fiji and Sweden. Victoria attended many different sessions, including the celebration of World Ocean Day which took place in the General Assembly.
For this day of meetings, Victoria wore an outfit which many thought was similar to the outfit she wore recently to her cousin's wedding. And I can assure you- that you are not losing your mind- the (Mabel) top is the same as that outfit, but she opted for the shorter skirt version (Mahlia Skirt) of the same long (Corn) skirt she wore to the wedding. These pieces come from Valerie as well (we are hoping to get photos of the pieces shortly- our contact is traveling and does not currently have access to the photos). She paired it with a pair of shoes from By Malene Birger and wore the matching Efva Attling Clouds and Stars earrings and necklace. Her bag is old and has not been identified as of yet, but is frequently seen with her on overseas trips.
On Friday, Victoria's day was again full of multiple sessions all with the central focus on the Sustainable Development Goal 14. In the morning she attended a session on garbage in the sea and ended the day with a session titled Engaging the private sector in SDG14. The Seafood Business for Ocean Stewardship (SeaBOS) initiative.
For her final day in New York, Victoria wore a dress which I instantly recalled seeing Queen Silvia wear in the 1980's. 1984 to be exact! Silvia wore this dress multiple times over the years and while it was never my favorite, I admire Victoria's dedication to sustainability by raiding her mother's closet instead of purchasing new clothes! She paired this with her Kreuger Jewellery earrings and her white By Malene Birger pumps. She carried the same bag that she used yesterday.
While in New York, Victoria took some time out of her busy schedule to catch up with friends.
Sofia awards Sophiahemmet Pins
On Friday, June 9th, Sofia was at the Stockholm City Hall for Sophiahemmet's Graduation and to hand out the pins to the Sophia Sisters. Sofia is Sophiahemmet's honorary chairman which is why she presented the traditional pins to the graduates.
For the ceremony, Sofia wore a new dress and jacket both from the Swedish Brand Greta that has always been a favorite for both her and Victoria during their pregnancies. She debuted Charlotte Bonde Louise Star earrings (which Victoria has worn before) and wore her Carolina Gynning petite butterfly necklace. She carried a new clutch from H&M (Thanks Pelle for pointing it out to me!) and wore new blue Stinaa.J pumps.
Victoria at the EAT Forum
Victoria attended the opening day of this year's EAT Forum (if you need a refresher on what that is- check out last year's post here) Victoria has attended for the past few years and one year when she couldn't attend, Daniel attended in her place. Victoria gave a speech during one of the sessions about "Oceans and the Sustainable Development Goals"- a great followup to her trip to New York.
For this engagement, Victoria selected a new dress from Rodebjer's AW17 collection which she paired with her Saint Laurent Navy Blue Pumps, Quidam Clutch, and a belt which I believe is an older piece from LK Bennett.
Victoria at the Agenda 2030 Meeting
On 13 June, Victoria attended a Government sponsored conference where Isabella Lövin and Ardalan Shekarbi launched a report outlining Sweden's work in the UN's Global Goals of Agenday 2030.
For this meeting, Victoria debuted Camilla Thulin's Orbit dress in Petal Pink which she paired with her By Malene Birger Pax pumps and matching clutch.
