Tonight, Crown Princess Victoria handed out the prizes to this year’s recipients of the Royal Academy of Forest and Agriculture Annual Prizes. This is the second time that the Crown Princess has attended this prize ceremony, held at Stockholm State House. In past years the King, Queen and Prince Carl Philip have all had the honor or passing out these prizes.
This year marks the 207th Annual Meeting for the Academy. The meeting always falls on January 28, on the Karl day, because the Academy held its very first gathering just that date in 1813. Lisa Sennerby Forsse opened the meeting in the Blue Hall and held a speech that alluded to the theme of the Feast of Assembly. The theme always reflects a current topic in the green industries and for the academy, this year, the theme is Food, Taste and Health.
In addition to the Crown Princess Victoria passing out the prizes, there were a few speeches made. The academy’s secretary Eva Pettersson spoke about the the academy’s past year and gave a glimpse into what to expect in the upcoming year. Brain Researcher Professor Martin Ingvar was this year’s invited speaker.
After the ceremony the invited guests gathered for a meal in the Golden Hall. The menu is created by members Christina Möller (honorary member of the academy) and Ella Nilsson, both who are well known in the food circles in Sweden. This academy's business is very much about the food they put on the tables - which comes from the earth and the forest. In recent years Christina Möller and Carl Jan Granqvist have presented the meal and the wines during the course of the banquet.
Crown Princess Victoria wore her red Greta Stella jacket with a tulle skirt, an outfit she first wore in 2014 to a meeting of the Swedish Academy. She wore her Bulgari earrings & ring, Ebba Brahe 3 Stars Bracelet, Eyes Wide Open Bracelet, Bridge Bracelet and Sophie by Sophie Heart bracelet. We believe she also wore her Marzio burgundy pumps. She also debuted a new clutch which we will update the post when we find the brand.
