Visit to Swedish Polar Research Secretariat
Today Crown Princess Victoria visited the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat.
The Swedish Polar Research Secretariat is the government agency which is mandated to coordinate and promote Swedish polar research. Among this umbrella of responsibilities the agency is tasked with improving environmental protection in the polar region, dispensing permits, offer insight to international negotiations and partnerships, organize research data, and raise awareness of polar regions and polar research. On today’s visit the agency presented to the Crown Princess on current and upcoming Swedish polar research projects in the Arctic and Antarctica.
Crown Princess Victoria is no stranger to polar research projects, in 2008 and and 2009 she joined up with Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and Crown Prince Haakon of Norway to undertake some visits to various polar research stations and organizations around Scandinavia. The three heirs were also patrons to the Fourth International Polar Year (2007-2008) in their respective countries- which for Sweden was organized by the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat. More recently the Crown Princess has attended seminars organized by organization (2010 and 2011)
Crown Princess Victoria wore her HunkyDory blazer with the ufo shirt she debuted a year ago during the Cambridges’ visit to Sweden. She paired the outfit with her Gianvito Rossi black ankle boots and her Kreuger earrings.
