Prince Carl Philip Completes Vasaloppet!

Prince Carl Philip Completes Vasaloppet!

Today Prince Carl Philip competed in the 95th Annual Vasaloppet! Vasaloppet is the world’s oldest cross country ski race at 90 kilometers (56 miles) going from Sälen to Mora. With 15,800 registered participants, the race is one of the largest in the world and has become apart of Swedish history. The race mirrors the route taken by King Gustav Vasa when fleeing Christian II’s soldiers in 1520.

Prince Carl Philip is not the first member of the family to undertake the long route- in 1977 King Carl XVI Gustaf completed the race. Vasaloppet is apart of Vasaloppet Race Week which includes 8 races, including Vasaloppet. Princess Sofia has compelted Stafettvasan in 2013 and 2014 and both she and Princess Madeleine have completed the ladies race Tjejvasan in 2008 and 2018 respectively. Upon finishing the race, the Prince was greeted by his wife and two sons.

For the race Prince Carl Philip wore Jahaug Thermal Beanie, Hestra Ski Team Gloves, and Bliz Goggles. Upon finishing he put on a Mountain Works Jacket.

Princess Sofia could be seen wearing a SVEA hat, white Peak Performance Supreme jacket and ski pants.

Prince Alexander wore Svea Smith Jr jacket, Helly Hansen pants, A Happy Brand hat, and Hestra mittens.

Prince Gabriel wore Acne Little Possy Hat, Polarn O Pyret jacket and ski pants and Hestra mittens.
