Crown Princess Opens "The Arctic - While the Ice is Melting"
Today, Crown Princess Victoria was at the Nordic Museum to attend the opening of their new exhibit “The Arctic- While the Ice is Melting”.
This exhibit is the newest major exhibit at the Nordiska museet (Nordic Museum) in Stockholm. It allowed visitors to meet people from some of the coldest places on earth- where the living conditions and environment are rapidly changing at a frightening pace. The museum mixes different medias such as, art, design, films and artifacts, to show the changes occurring in the arctic.
The main focal point of the exhibit is a giant block of ice, with a deep crack between to show “now and then”. This block of ice was created in collaboration with the exhibition designers MUSEEA. The goal is to introduce visitors to the history and the future of the ice. Included in the exhibition are roof projections, interactive stations and arctic tasting experiences in the restaurant together create a total experience for all who attend.
The documentary features 10 documentaries showing a glimpse into the lives of the 4 million people who call the Arctic home. The exhibition is based on a three-year preliminary work, led by Lotten Gustafsson Reinius within the framework of the Hallwylska guest professorship, which is shared between Stockholm University and the Nordic Museum.
For this visit, Crown Princess Victoria wore her Mint Rodebjer Suit which she paired with Cognac Brown leather accessories. She wore her Ralph Lauren boots first seen during her final event in Denmark and a new leather clutch with silver clasp detail. She wore an old pair of green gemstone earrings.
