Crown Princess Victoria attends Friends of Nordic Museum and Skansen Annual Meeting
Today, Crown Princess Victoria attended the Nordic Museum and Skansen Friend’s Annual Gathering at Skånska Gruvan in Kungliga Djurgården.
The Nordic Museum is Sweden’s largest cultural museum featuring items from the past and present showcasing Swedish history. Skansen is the world’s oldest open air museum. Skansen showcases the whole of Sweden with houses and farmsteads from every part of the country. The Friends of Nordic Museum and Skansen is a “social meeting place” for those who are interested in cultural history. A membership into this friend circle provides free admission to 11 different museums around Scandinavia as well as benefits like a 10% discount at gift shops and exclusive magazines.
Once a year, the members are gathered together for an evening event where travel grants are awarded. This year, Crown Princess Victoria awarded grants to 16 individuals to be used for travel to various cultural museums around the world. These grants are not limited to just learning about Swedish culture, one grant given to Linda Törngren (head of animal care at Skansen) received a grant to attend a conference in Poland about zoo design.
For this evening event, Crown Princess Victoria selected to wear her Samsoe & Samsoe skirt set which she paired with white accessories. Selecting her Kreuger Jewellery pearl earrings, Miu Miu clutch, and white Gianvito Rossi pumps. She wore her regular collection of silver bracelets on one wrist with her Carl Edmond watch on the other.
