It’s a New Water Work for Öland!
Today, Crown Princess Victoria was joined by Prince Felix of Luxembourg to open a new Water plant on the island of Öland.
The process to rebuild the Mörbylånga Waterworks began back in May 2018. At that time, the current plant was unable to produce enough water for the island and trucks were required to travel back and forth from the mainland with 1,000 cubic meters of water each day.
This new facility does not rely on groundwater like the former, but rather mixes water from Kalmar Sound with water from Mörbylånga Industrial Purification Plant. This new process reduced the vulnerability of the water supply during the dry years. The new process enables up to 4,000 cubic meters of water to be purified and made available each day.
The need for a larger water plan has become an increasing one over the past few years as the dry spells which the island has seen over the past few years. Additionally the demand for water has also grown as more and more communities have become connected to the municipal drinking network.
For this event, Crown Princess Victoria wore a fully repeated outfit. She wore the Robedjer Adania blouse and the matching Irmaline skirt with her Rizzo sandals and her Hippi Grace bag. She wore a lot of jewels including her Edblad earrings, her Efva Attling Cloud necklace, her Dulong Fine Jewelry Kharisma bracelet and her usual Sophie by Sophie Heart bracelet and Ebba Brahe x Childhood Eyes Open bracelet. She finished the outfit with her trusty Carl Edmong granit watch.
