King and Crown Princess Meet with Police's National Operations Department
Today, the King and Crown Princess Victoria met with the Police's National Operations Department (NOA) representatives (including Mats Löfving- chief of the police) at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. During this meeting the two were briefed on the latest explosions and shootings.
There has been an increase in shootings and explosions across Sweden in the past year. Just last Monday morning, a 31 year old women was murdered in daylight while carrying her toddler son and on Wednesday, a 18 year old women was shot in her apartment in Stockholm. News reports have shared that neither of these two woman were the targets of these murders, but rather men located in their vicinity.
In conjunction with this meeting, the King released a statement:
The concern that these acts raise in the public is shared by me and my family. We want to express our participation with those affected and at the same time express our support to the police and other authorities in their continued work.
For this meeting the Crown Princess repeated her Arket floral dress which she paired with jewelry that are often her “go-to” pieces for daily meetings and engagements.
