Royals gather at Dementia X
Today, the Queen and Princess Sofia were joined by Queen Sofia of Spain and Princess Takamado of Japan for the 3rd meeting of Dementia X.
Dementia X is a biannual, global initiative founded to fight dementia. During the day, hundreds of business executives, policymakers and other stakeholders gather for a day of reflection and learning with the hope to bring high-level dialogue on the challenges that age related demographic changes and dementia pose to society, individuals, and healthcare systems alike. Queen Silvia is patron to this initiative.
During the day, participants were able to hear from a range of speakers including Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of Wold Health Organization (via video address), Mrs. Cecilia Morel, First Lady of Chile, Mr. Lenny Shallcross, Executive Director, World Dementia Council, and Queen Silvia herself. There were 3 breakout sessions; Dementia adaptation in practice, Health systems preparedness to deliver disease modifying therapies, and Dementia solutions & tech which took place in the Prince Bertil Apartments inside the Royal Palace.
Following the day of speakers, Queen Silvia, Queen Sofia and Princess Takamado attended a dinner held in connection with Dementia X at Nationalmuseum. Queen Sofia of Spain is a Honorary Ambassador of Alzheimer’s Disease International and Princess Takamado has taken an interest into dementia research and has participated in multiple events in the past few years.
For this event, Princess Sofia wore a new suit from Tiger of Sweden with a simple white blouse. She paired it with her Stinaa.J Pink Python pumps, AVAVAV bag, and Englebert Stockholm necklace.
Queen Silvia wore her Thalia jacket and matching dress with a Tory Burch bag.
